Baan Ice Restaurant @ ICONSIAM brings the vibrant flavors of southern Thai cuisine to the heart of Bangkok. Nestled in the bustling ICONSIAM shopping complex, this establishment offers a communal dining experience where dishes are shared, fostering a sense of togetherness among friends and family. Reviewers praise the authenticity of the dishes, with highlights such as the Bai Liang with egg and shrimp, known for its salty, crisp shrimp perfectly complementing fragrant Hommali rice.

While the rich, spicy flavors are undeniable markers of southern Thai cooking, diners are advised to temper the heat upon request, catering to those who may not handle spice as well. However, complaints have surfaced regarding the occasional over-oiling of ingredients, particularly with deep-fried garlic, which impacted the overall flavor profile. Despite the higher price point of about 400-500 THB per person, many feel the quality and spectacular views of the city skyline justify the expense.

Returning patrons rave about Baan Ice's pad thai, and dishes like stir-fried yellow curry with crab and refreshingly vibrant beverages have also received accolades. Overall, while there are minor drawbacks, the restaurant successfully captivates diners with its rich flavors and inviting atmosphere—making it a must-try for anyone visiting Bangkok.

Baan Ice Restaurant @ ICONSIAM is widely praised for its authentic Southern Thai cuisine, known for its vibrant and spicy flavors that cater well to those seeking genuine regional dishes. The restaurant offers a communal dining style where dishes are shared among guests, enhancing the social and cultural dining experience. Popular menu items frequently mentioned include spicy curries, stir-fried crab, and refreshing beverages, appealing to both adults and children. Guests appreciate the reasonable pricing combined with a scenic city skyline view. While the overall food quality and flavors receive consistent acclaim, there are occasional remarks about the white rice being undercooked. The spiciness level is notably high, with recommendations for milder options for those sensitive to heat.

Baan Ice is an authentic southern Thai restaurant that serves dishes with a spicy flavour as the baseline. They offer a Thai-style dish format where you can order everything and everything is shared for all of your friends or family. You eat with rice and can decide how much you want to eat for each main dish that’s placed in the middle of the table. My recommendation dish is the Bai Liang with egg and shrimp. They offer crisp small shrimp with the right salty flavour, which pairs really well with the Hommali Rice. However, I had a problem with the small fish with deep-fried garlic. The garlic felt too oily and deep-fried, which affected the flavour of the deep-fried garlic to be a bit bitter. Overall, the dishes are tasty, but they’re not cheap. It’s like 400-500 THB per person, which is quite expensive compared to average Thai food. However, considering their location and taste, I think it’s a fair price.

Southern Thai authentic cuisine. Must try! NOTE: It would be a great idea to request for less spicy for those who cannot take spicy food that much (a signature of the Southern Thai food is the spicy!).

Came back twice for their pad thai. Authentic Thai flavors with reasonable price and a bonus of city skyline views! Definitely must try when you are in town

Wonderful experience, food was surprisingly very tasty and bialiang, tum kha and the fried chicken for kids were pretty awesome, lemon juice and the nam daeng also were refreshing. In all great place in icon siam for some great food.

All the dishes were very nice and flavourful. My first item trying stir fried yellow curry with crab and it’s super nice! The ‘super spicy chicken’ on their menu is super spicy indeed, don’t order if you can’t take some heat in your mouth. The whole dining experience was amazing except for the white rice that was served. Sadly the white rice was not fully cooked and it get harder as it cooled down. Quite a pity since all the dishes went well with the rice.

An absolutely stunning view of the city with top notch hygiene and exceptional service from Leck, who have some really good recommendations. Crab meat was delicious along with the strong flavored shrimp and roast pork stir fry. Rice noodles with 2 sauces

I ordered 3 dishes: crab omelette, shrimp glass noodles and sour fish soup. The omelette has lots of crab meat but not having any crab flavour. I am a bit disappointed. The fish soup is okay and as the menu said, it is sour in taste and tastes good. The best dish is the fried glass noodle. It comes with lots of fresh ingredients like shrimps and squids. They all taste good. All in all, the food here is not very outstanding and definitely not worth the high price, but the staff service is very attentive and polite so I still enjoy my meal here.

From what I have been told, Baan ice serves Southern Thai Food. I was looking for the rice with shrimp paste, the pomelo or catfish salad but they did not have it on the menu. The food was good but not the best. But I still enjoyed what I ordered. Servers are very attentive and helpful with the orders. The place is clean. The atmosphere is your typical mall vibe and decor. Enjoyed the shrimp in garlic
